Hello, I have recently come across a very interesting small silver platter with rather weird markings on the top which I cannot seem to find out where or from whom they are from…Any help would hold my deepest gratitude. Thanks in advance
These are the marks of Georg Roth & Co of Hanau in Germany. Note that there is no single standard for Hanau silver and your dish could be anything from .750 upwards, although it almost certainly silver rather than plated.
