This a Chester sterling silver hallmark with the date letter J for the assay year 1959/60 and the maker’s or sponsor’s mark S&E of the Birmingham company Smith, Ewen & Stylic Ltd. They are listed as jewellery and watch case manufacturers in Frederick Street, Birmingham.
