I have a pair of silver earrings with hallmarks that I don’t recognise. Can anyone tell me anything them please?
Took me a while, because it’s pretty obscure. Not sure about the maker yet, but the assay mark, the rider on horseback and 925, is from Lithuania.
Wow… That’s really helpful. Thank you!
And staring at it a bit more, it looks like there’s a tiny D at the top left, above the horseman, which would indicate the Druskininkai assay office. It looks like a 4B in the other mark, which would be the date code for 2004.
Yes, I can see the D…now that you mention it… The date 4B is much clearer. There seem to be marks to the left of 4B which look like dots to me. Would these be the maker’s mark?
I would assume so, but finding it online would be quite a challenge. There don’t seem to be any comprehensive lookup sites, as there are for UK or US maker’s marks.
The assay office could probably help. How’s your Lithuanian?
My Lithuanian is very poor… But I am very happy to have learned so much in just one day…the country of origin, the assay office and the year…which is a lot more than I had expected. Thank you again.
