Help with sponsor mark rubbed

Help me with my favourite tea caddy spoon. My best guess is london, 1805, George Nangle. Any other thoughts? Many thanks

London 1805, for sure. That part of the hallmark is nice, clear, and unambiguous. The maker is a challenge, given how rubbed it is. George Nangle seems like the best fit, but I could also make a case for George Wintle.

Thanks you both. Now you got me leaning toward George Wintle…

…except that the Nangle spoon has a scallop shell design that could be the twin of yours (I’m not clear about where that photo originates).

True. Hey Bart, what is the source of the photo with the tape measure? Is that a Nangle spoon? Thanks

Thanks Bart. Exceptionally rare? Well I’m going with Nangle for sure then!

Perhaps you could add, “Gifted by Emma Hamilton to Admiral Lord Nelson, shortly before Trafalgar.” The sky’s the limit!
