Help with understanding hallmarks

Hi
I’m a complete novice and have tried looking up the hallmarks but struggling - could someone help as I don’t really know where to starts. I couldn’t find a reference to the maker either ;(

This is a London sterling silver hallmark (lion for sterling silver, leopard’s head for London) with the date letter k for 1925/26. The maker’s mark is that of Wakely & Wheeler.

My web site, Silver Makers Marks, should help you to check and identify British hallmarks and makers’ marks. I have tried to make it easy to use.

Thank you so much and for the link to your website

Search 925.1000.com for world marks incl for Stirling silver, continental silver, USA,incl maker’s marks and silver plate. Just for interest sake I am unaware if Australia ever had hallmarks for Sterling .
