I believe the anchor is the hallmark for Birmingham, England

Yes your correct about the anchor I’ve drained my brain searching up hallmarks I don’t know what the middle letter or symbol is basically trying to work out the year of the hallmarks any help would be much appreciated

It’s a gothic S and the year is 1892.

Often wondered what a brain drain would sound like .

Now I know: it’s a sort of gothic shushing sound.

Back in 1892 there was so little going on they actually gave you a choice of having the letter in an oval or rectangular frame.

It was however an exciting year end for lawyers whose UK Court of Appeal decided Carlill v Carbolic Smoke Ball Company, a case said to define contract law.

The appellate court of the day decided if you made an offer open to all anybody could accept it.

Riveting stuff to benumb law students for the next 130 years. They still put it in first year contract classes in the hopes it thins out the crowd.

Made the duality of the framed S option quite edgy.

The maker’s mark is actually there just above the hallmarks. But it looks like they punched out the window after the sponsor mark had been applied, partially deleting it.

Now the owner of this fine medallion can offer us a reward for looking up all the three letter or more Birmingham sponsor marks for 1892.

The winner gets another medallion with the Latin inscription “Puer, vere vitam tibi comparare necesse est.”
