Hi I have just purchased a piece of Elkington silver / plate sauce boat, the base has been stamped many times, some marks are slightly different or incomplete , there are no hallmarks or other marks, could this be a test piece ? Can anyone give me any sort of information, such as date ? I’m keen to know why it’s Elkington co. Ltd and not just Elkington or Elkington .co.
