We have a Highland “suite” of Dirk and Sgean Dubh hallmarked in Glasgow in 1920. The maker’s mark is clearly “TD” in a rectangle but we are struggling to identify this maker. Any help would be hugely appreciated S&N
The Edinburgh Assay Office have a section on their web site devoted to the identification of Scottish makers’ marks (including provincial and Glasgow marks). Unfortunately this TD does not appear. Although they have the extant Glasgow records I get the impression that they are missing a lot of detail and your TD seems to have fallen through the cracks.

Many thanks for the responses. Unfortunately it makes sense that when the Glasgow office closed, some material “fell through the cracks”. Thanks again, Stewart
