Hello everyone,
I would appreciate your expertise in identifying this spoon. I recently acquired it and I am trying to determine its origin, age, and potential material.
Here are the details:
Design: It features a very intricate pierced (cut-out) handle with a filigree-style pattern. The tip of the handle has a decorative shape reminiscent of a fleur-de-lis or a stylized floral bud.
Stem: The stem is decorated with a delicate beaded pattern along its length.
Hallmarks: I have closely inspected the back of the bowl, the stem, and the handle, but I cannot find any visible hallmarks or maker’s marks.
Dimensions: : It is about 12cm long
Observation: The metal has some dark patina in the recessed areas of the design. It is non-magnetic.
Does anyone recognize this specific pattern or know which manufacturer or country might have produced such decorative spoons without marks? Could it be Alpaca/Silver-plate or a specific European souvenir style?
Thank you in advance for your help!
