Identification required if possible?

I’ve not had much luck trying to find the matching stamp/marks.

I’ve also not received confirmation of what these are exactly. My guess is vintage sugar tongs?

I do have them for sale, but reluctant to sell not knowing much about them and of course their worth.

I was asked recently what they weighed and because i then assumed that he was either going to offer me a price for the current scrap value of silver and/or he’d was literally going to do just that.

We’ll im sorry but I haven’t replied only to state that, these shouldn’t be melted down and I was hoping to find a collector whom would appreciate them. After all, i could have them melted down myself so why would i sell them to anyone for that ridiculous purpose!

They are definitely early 1900’s in my opinion and I hope they have another 100 years if life being appreciated.

If anyone is any wiser to help me with sharing your knowledge that would be great.

Kindest of regards to all!

The marks on these tongs appear to be (J) (&) (J) (B) [symbol]. This is the sort of mark associated with an electroplater, in this case probably one based in Birmingham because of the “B”. This manufacturer is not listed in any of my usual go-to places for electroplaters so I am unable to give an identity. What is certain is that the marks are not silver marks.
