Identifying Mark and item

I got this piece from my wife’s grandparents and we can’t figure out what it is or where it was made. They had an antique store but that’s about all I know. Attaching images trying to magnify with iPhone. The lid is removable and item is about 3 inches or more wide and tall. Any help?

It may be a tea caddy. It’s not my main area of knowledge but I can say that these are Dutch marks. The 6-sided lion mark with “2” in it shows that it is 833 standard silver and the protruding key mark indicates that the casket or box was made for export. This page gives some more information on Dutch marks including a list of date letters; I can’t make out the date letter on your piece but you should be able to work it out.
