Identifying old silver spoon

Howdy there, I’m wondering what the date is on this soon and what these marks mean? Any help would be amazing. Thank you!

Murch

This is a London (England) silver hallmark. The various components from the left are:

  • lion passant - guarantee mark for sterling (925) silver

  • leopard’s head crowned - the mark of the London Goldsmiths Company assay office (used until 1821 when it was replaced with the leopard’s head uncrowned)

  • date letter G for the assay year 1802/03

  • duty mark (bust of George III) showing that the correct tax had been paid

  • maker’s mark (more properly now called the sponsor’s mark); this is CB over TB for the father and son partnership of Christopher and Thomas Barker.

Thanks so much Phil! Great to know. You rock!
