I inherited a lovely set I was always told was Argentinian silver (Spanish family emigrated at the end of the 1800’s and this was a gift for their firstborn - they owned a silver mine….) so was surprised when I was told it was worthless. Is anyone able to explain this mark to me at all??

Meneses is/was a Spanish company so if this were silver it would have Spanish silver marks. As it does not it is therefore almost certainly electroplated. Whilst not worthless electroplate does not have the same sort of value as solid silver.
