Hi, is this a Chester Hallmark and what is the date mark? I have tried looking up the date mark which appears to look a bit like a snake with a bar across it but cannot find any reference to it. I believe the maker to be F Harding & Son. Thanks in anticipation
Yes, it’s Chester. They had a habit of turning their date letters anticlockwise through 90 degrees, probably only on smaller items. So the date letter is the script D for 1904.
