J. Walker Hallmark

I have a very old soup ladle with a J. Walker hallmark. It is not marked sterling but tests positive. I have not been able to identify the maker or find any info at all. Would love more information if anyone knows! Thanks!

This is very likely to be James Walker of Aberdeen. He was active between 1847 and 1882. His marks normally indicate that he was from Aberdeen, for example:


but there were no consistent marking standards for Scottish provincial silver.
