James Dixon and Sons Tea Pot

Could anyone here please give me an idea of the age/value of this tea pot? Also, the best product/method to use to clean it that won’t damage it? Thanks very much!

For what ever reason your jpeg image failed to appear on my screen.

But a quick view of this page may answer one of your questions and a look at realized not asked for prices on Ebay or LiveAuctioneer may deal with the other.

Thanks very much for your reply! I have no idea why the images don’t appear. There are marks that I’n sure people on here would be able to decipher. The top row has a Y followed by a trumpet with a banner followed by a 5. Below that it says James Dixon & Sons. Below that it says Sheffield. And below that the numbers 2674. Meanwhile, I’ll try to get the images to load. I think what I did just worked. I edited my original post and I think you can see the images now.

Right they have now loaded. Well done. And (drumroll) it’s part of an EPNS teaset So go on Ebay for a price and half it and you get value. What happened to the rest of the set, divvied up among the grandkids?

May I ask what you want to clean it for? Your own use or to sell? And if to sell to whom? Because if it is Americans they like their antiques grubby. They call it authentic.

Why do you think it is a teapot? It might be a hot water jug which the Americans call a coffee pot.

This page tells you you about the company that made it and you can probably deduce when:

Failing that Bart has already answered the question on another JDS EPNS pot on this site which I presume might be of interest to you:

Happy to do it all again for you, but you should have some fun too!
