John Round & Son Ltd Spoons

Hi there

I have some John Round & Son Ltd spoons - Can anyone provide any information on these? There are also some other stamps on them that look like they may be army related, can any provide information on this?

Hoping someone can provide some insight!

Thanks in advance,
Lorraine

As your spoon is not hallmarked it is not silver. There are no indications that it is even electroplate so it may very well be some sort of base white metal such as nickel silver. I cannot tell you anything about the lettering/numbering but I agree with you that there may be some military connection.

Hi,

There was a John Round and Son Ltd making silver-plated items in Sheffield, 1874-1886, but I can’t see any marks like the ones on your spoons. But there is a possible lead for you!

Cheers,

Ben
