.875 enamelled Russian silver, turn of the last century spoon.

In 1896 a “Kokoshnik” mark was mandated by the Czar with a female head silhouette facing left and silver fineness expressed in zolotnicki inside an oblong cartouche. On the right side were inscribed the assayer’s initials in Cyrillic characters.

We can see the 84 zolotnik mark indicating silver fineness but the assayer or city mark is more difficult to read for me.

However on the other side of the mark is the maker who is from Moscow, which increases the chances of this being assayed in that city and I think the date is 1897 a year within the span the maker worked coinciding with the time span the assayer worked.
