On a silver magnum decanter coaster of appropriate period style.
This looks like EF for Edward Farrell or Edward Fernell? But they were still apprenticed in 1776 which is the London date mark. Any thoughts welcome!

This date letter is 1816. The very similar date letter for 1776 would not have had a duty mark associated with it. Edward Farrell (mark registered 1813) looks a very likely identification.

Many thanks for that information. I’m complete novice with silverware, my forte is glass.
Pity it’s not from the earlier date but still makes the item over 200 years old!
