London 1801? F with crown

Hi there!

Hope everybody started the New Year well.

Could you please whether I’m reading this correctly? Is it London 1801? I’m not sure as there is no city mark and there is the crown above the letter.

Thanks in advance

Remy

Maybe Sheffield 1803? The letters have crowns then in some cases and maker could be Thomas Law

I agree with nightkitchen’s identification. This form of the Sheffield mark with crown and date letter combined in various arrangements was used on smaller items between 1780 and 1853.

Nice! @Swisscollector since I used Phil’s website to come to my conclusion I’d be happy with his word on the matter :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
