Looking for some info on this TAXCO HA 940

I’m an estate liquidator and recently purchased a lot of very nice antique silver pieces. This one has the hallmark: TAXCO HA 940. It has 19 separate panels, linked together with a hook and loop design, decorated with cabochon amethyst. Measures overall 16" long

Any info anyone can provide would be appreciated such as: is it a necklace or would be used as two separate bracelets? Age? Value? Thank you all!

The markings 940 and 990, which appear alongside the HA marks, indicate the purity of the sterling silver used in the jewelry items. The HA stands for Hecter Aguilar. I have a Margo de Taxco Parue myself. I would say it is safe to say it is a Neclace.
