Found a silver or silver plated tray, has hallmarks and a serial/ model number stamp, would like to know a little more about the maker, its heavily tarnished and I did not want to clean it if it’s electroplated.
I don’t recognise (and have not found in my usual resources) this mark, but, as there are no indications of silver fineness, it is almost certainly electroplated. That should not stop you from polishing it however. Use a good quality, non-abrasive polish and it should look a lot better; if there is any pre-existing plating loss you are not going to make it worse.
