Marking of royal manchester teapot

Hi , i just get Royal Manchester tea pot .
Trying to understand the marks on it.
İt is just marked as 92 . And a big crown at the bottom.
Any chance it to be sterling silver, or is it just silver plated?

If it were silver it would be marked with a recognised silver fineness such as “sterling”, 925, etc. 92 is not such a number. It is, however, often found on pewter to show the percentage of tin in the alloy. Your teapot could also be electroplated with 92 being just a design number.
