Marks on a travelling communion set

Hi,
As you can see I’m new to this forum, and I really hope that the knowledgable people here can help,
I have recently come across a 4 piece travelling communion set and I’m trying to work out exactly what it is made from and where and when it comes from.
On the bottom of the pyx are some marks, but not what I would call hallmarks, there is a symbol that looks like the ear of wheat, and the letter U by the side of it, then underneath are the numbers 38.
On the chalice it says " made in England " in the shape of a shield.
I did take a couple of pics with my phone, but not the best quality, I’ll post them up, but will try and get some clearer ones if it helps identify the marks.
