Hello, long time lurker first time asker…
I have this amazing piece - a cake basket I think - with really ornate repousse reticulated handle and panels attached to flat rim and solid flat base with a repousse cherub pinned to it. The handle features medallion type lady and man heads.
Repairs have been done on it at some point and these have covered up the only mark I could find on it, although I can tell you it ends in ‘ch’. There is a long zig zag test mark on the base. I figure it’s some type of silver given the test mark and perhaps German or some kind of continental silver?
I’d love to know more about what it is, who made it and when!
