Need help identifying!

I recently purchased this spoon cause i liked the way it had scottish thistles on it if this is what they are. I wanted to know if I can find more information on possible maker . it seems to have had gold plating on the spoon part marks seem to be an (AG) WITH A WALKING LION MARKED TWICE IN SUCCESSION

I can’t see the lion passant in these marks. My suspicion is that it is a Scottish provincial spoon, possibly by Adam Graham of Glasgow and dating from around 1800. It was not originally made with this decoration; it has fallen victim to the Victorian fashion for remaking older plain items into something more decorative. The reworking would have been done in the latter part of the 19th century.
