Hi, I need help identifying this hallmark. The piece reads Plata .900 so it is probably coin silver but I cannot find info on this piece. Or at least I think that is what it says.

A clearer photo of what appears below “PLATA” would be a big help. In person, what does it look like, to you?
On the one hand, “plata” is Italian/Spanish for “silver,” and the 900 would seem to indicate the purity of the silver. On the other hand, objects like the one pictured are usually electroplate, not solid silver.
