Can anyone please help me dating this hallmark? Also, any ideas as to the use of this piece…I was told it was for holding hot coals, but for what purpose? That may be entirely wrong anyway! Thanks!

It’s an ember bowl . If you google “ember bowl” or “chofeta” you will find a lot of information.
The hallmark look spanish, maybe Cordoba, but i’m not sure.
