Pseudo markings?

If I might make the same suggestion to you so often made to others seeking answers on this forum: perhaps a picture of the entire object rather than just the marks, some provenance if available and your own preliminary conclusions to date?

Regardless of any markings, you can clearly see the silverplate layer wearing through in the top right and bottom left. It looks like copper underneath."

Thank you Bart. See, with one picture you solved the entire problem. No question they are pseudo markings – They are on plate.

Now if only you could train the forum’s customers to be as readily compliant.

Mind you, if they were there would be little need for the forum in the first place.

Dear Christopher, I can’t raise adults – that’s what childhood was for, a time of solid kindergarten and instilling moral principles and sensible behavior. Sometimes a profession based on rigor and almost military drill comes in handy, but not everyone joins the army… :slight_smile:
