Hello all. Ive just joined and have some items sitting about but unsure if there silver or just plate.
PA&SS on a teapot
Probably electroplate by Philip Ashberry & Sons of Sheffield (English electroplate silver: marks and hallmarks of British silver plate: Aa-Az). Please post a picture of the teapot and all marks on it if you are still unsure.

(1) WHO: the maker is PHILIP ASHBERRY & SONS identified by the Figural trade mark (paw feet with banner) and the initials PA&S
(2) WHERE: the firm was active in Sheffield, identified by the “S” (on the right, after the maker’s initials)
(3) WHAT: the piece is identified by the stock (production) number 616.
