I am stuck with this set of forks!
This mark crops up regularly; see, for example, this post from 2 days ago: Help with identifying hallmarks and origin
There are, I suppose worse things to be stuck with that six silver-plated “old english” pattern cake forks by Harrison Bros and Howson manufactured in the first quarter of the 20th century in a leather presentation box that could use little TLC!
Unless you are in the UK where, regardless of how soft sticky or spongy the cake is the convention is to eat it with your fingers rendering forks, even such charmingly simple ones as these, obsolete.
However, even Americans with their preoccupation with things like angel food cake really prefer something larger for its consumption.
So clearly not only do the six forks need to immigrate to the US they needs to repurpose as cocktail forks or prawn forks or even small forks designed to get at those bits of lobsters large forks cannot.
But, and this is Mr Trump’s idea not mine, they have to match his bathroom taps and loo. So gold plated on top of the silver plate or else it’s off to El Salvador where you really don’t want to know what they do with small forks.
