Nice Old Tongs 1800’s

I just wanted to share this article and pictures of my favourite tongs that handle salads and pasta salads perfectly. The craftsmanship and ergonomics are excellent. I take these to potlucks a lot. Very enjoyable to use.
They are from the 1800’s . English export I think?

(Also the ruler is a 1935 Coca Cola ruler from the USA.)

Could you please gently clean the long mark next to the signatures? There’s definitely some writing there (“HENLEY”?).
I admit, it’s a beautiful item!

Thank you for your kind response.

Dutch hallmarks, Benten. Lion Passant mark indicates 2nd standard purity =minimum .833, the Minerva head is the duty mark, Q letter date mark 1850 (for sure).
Maker’s mark IE (IF?) under anchor (I’m still searching). :face_with_monocle:

Very interesting topic:

It is stamped inside on both sides.
Thank you for this information Bart.
I hope everyone can incorporate some silver in daily life use. A simple silver cup in the bathroom for water, a silver teaspoon to stir your coffee. Like sunshine, there is something we enjoy about it.
