i have a heavy rectangular jewellrey box with alot of raised decoration on (blossom flowers and 2 birds) i have no idea if its silver or just metal! i have searched for the marking it has on the underside but with no joy. i have included the pic of it. if anyone could help me out that would be fab!
It’s most likely not silver. The use of the English word “foreign” implies that it was imported into an English speaking country. If it was silver and imported into the UK or Eire it would have to have a hallmark and for the US I would expect it to have the word “sterling” at least.
