Hi, are these numbers on these James Dixon silver plated salt spoons gram weights of silver covering? I’ve been in general antiques for many years and this is the first time I have come across numbers like this on English silver plate, although I have seen sets with individual numbers. I have only known the lettering quality of silver plate, A1 A, B etc. Thanks.
Your picture is too small to see any number marks. I assume that the tiny marks to the left are what you are referring to. It is not normal for English electroplate to have anything other than the A1, etc mark to show plating quality.
