“Platinoid” is a trade mark of F R Martino of Birmingham, England. It seems to be a base metal alloy. I have not been able to find initials CS&C with cross keys mentioned anywhere.

Martino is listed in a Birmingham trades directory as “Martino, Francis Richard, german silver manufacturer, 37 & 38 Princip street”. German silver is an old name for the alloy nickel silver.
