Hello,
I have inherited two cutlery sets from my British family who were resident in Argentina in the late 1800s through to the 1960s. The smaller knife is from a straightforward knife & fork set; the large serving knife is from a large fish cutlery & serving set. I cannot see any hallmarks for sterling - but even for plate, I cannot identify the hallmarks. Maybe Spanish / Argentina silver? The Maltese Cross mark appearing on both, as the 3rd hallmark - is this significant? Would really appreciate some help with this - thank you in advance
Although I cannot identify with certainty either of the manufacturers of these knife blades, the marks are typical of Brithish electroplate makers. Indeed the marks on the first knife include the letters EP and NS for electroplated nickel silver.
Phil
Thanks Phil - really appreciate it!
