Hi, I was wondering if anyone can help me try and date a piece of silver wear. I have three Hallmarks. (1) a lion passant, facing left. (2) A Plain Shield, (3) a letter, either A or D but more in the gothic font. I have tried contacting the Assay office and the person i need to speak to works part time. The piece i am talking about is a Hand held mirror (something that should be in a period drama, but older looking). On the back i believe it to be turtleshell ??? Sorry not very good at spelling. Really would appreciate any feedback many thanks wayne.

All I can tell From the Lion is that it was made in the UK
