Pocket watch (identify)

Greetings to all.

I have this pocket watch and I would like to know more about it.

I know it was made by P. Brugger, a German immigrant, in Birmingham.

It is silver and from the year 1885 (I think). Could anyone tell me what purity of silver it has?

The mechanism is Swiss.

Would anyone know or have more information?

Thank you very much and best regards

Albert

It is sterling (925/1000) - guaranteed by the presence of the lion passant mark. You have identified the year correctly as 1885. The case maker’s mark is worn on both sections but combining the two gives ED, the mark of Dimier Brothers, listed as watch importers & jewellers of Cannon Street, London. ED was Edward Dimier.
