One more research project question that I don’t seem to be able to make headway on, despite considerable toil. Feels like the maker’s mark should be in the circle, but it’s not. Hopefully, this is obvious I am being dense.

Any thoughts?

DOMINICK & HAFF - New York, origin as William Gale & Son in 1862. Succeeded by William Gale Jr (1866), William Gale Jr & Co (1867), Dominick & Corning (1867), Gale & Corning (1869), Gale Dominick & Haff (1870), Dominick & Haff (1872). Purchased by Reed & Barton in 1928.
