Recently bought this quaich for an up-coming wedding. I was trying to identify the hallmarks and basically get a rough valuation to see if my heart ruled my head regarding price paid! Ha
It’s a Sheffield hallmark for 1933. The maker, E J G & Co Ld, may be E J Gallichan & Co Ltd of Jersey but I have not definitely identified the maker - it seems strange that a Jersey company should be producing quaiches. Of course it might just be a two-handled bowl!
For a realistic valuation I suggest that you try to find something similar in Ebay’s “Sold” auction listings.
