I would be very grateful for your help with reading this hallmark. I assumed that it was silver plated but not sure. Tried to do my own research but failed miserably…
This is salt cauldron cellar and I am aware it needs cleaning.

I don’t recognise the mark, but it’s almost certainly silver plated. It has the appearance of an English electroplate mark where the separate “S” stands for Sheffield. Due to the lack of a hallmark or other fineness indicator the chances of it being silver are vanishingly small.
