Ring material and stamp identification

Gifted from my grandmother. We’re both Swedish. But I don’t think the ring is.

Not sure if it’s silver(gilded?) or some other material.

Red stone.

Weight: 18.27g

There is only one mark on the ring. I’ve tried to find it in books and online with no luck.

Any info appreciated.

I suggest you check if the stone (most likely a ruby) is natural.

I found this polish stamp, which is very similar. The order is reversed though. Also, as I understand it, these polish stamps were first used in 1920; the ring “feels” a bit older(late 19th).

Thank you for responding.

Is there anything I can do myself to identify the stone?

Maybe it will help.

I use Culti Japan’s Diamond Selector II (DS II-86I) to test gemstones.
