can anyone verify these hallmarks as Sheffield 1918/19 please. A slight dispute with some American cousins who say these are faux silver and are plated marks. As far as I can see they are correct although the maker is unlisted. These are the only images I have so far.
Your American cousins are at least partially correct. This is not a Sheffield mark and counts as what we loosely term a “pseudo-mark”. However it is not certain that it is plated; it may be solid silver, possibly of a lower than sterling grade, but only proper testing will prove its composition. I have seen this set of marks before in forum queries but as far as I know they have not been conclusively identified.
