silver bud vase

Any ideas about this bud vase–who made it, what it’s worth, or anything else? It was my grandmother’s. It is about 10" tall x 3.25" diameter at the top. Thanks for any info you can provide!

I don’t seem to be able ti figure out how to include photos so here is a link to pictures of the vase & its bottom on Picasa.

Hi there and thanks for joining us. I can’t quite meake out the mark on the bottom - right above the word “sterling”…it looks like a “S” in a square but I’m not sure. Try to get a close up of that mark and perhaps we can identify the maker. Because its marked “sterling” it is probably American, and is solid silver. The number below “sterling” would be the pattern number. An American sterling bud vase of that size would be worth in the $100-200 range.

Thanks for the response. Yes, that is an S in a square in the middle of the base!

Thanks - it was made by Seidman of New York in the mid-20th century.
