Silver Butter Knife, Pickle or Fruit Fork? What is it please?

Hello,

I collect early 20th Century rifle shooting prize spoons. I recently bought 2 spoons and in the package was included the small Butter Knife(?) shown below. It is 12cm in length, London 1898 hallmark and maker’s mark for James Wakely and Frank Wheeler. However I cannot find anything quite like it and should be very interested if anyone is able to tell me what it was intended for?

Many thanks,
Exmpa

It’s a butter fork - used to pick up a single pat or curl of butter. The flat part can then be used to spread the butter.

Thank you Phil,

That’s what I thought it probably was but hadn’t been able to find anything similar.
