Hi,
Please can I get some help with these items. I know they are hallmarked for Birmingham assay, made in 1884, but I cannot work out the maker. I’ve looked at the makers mark and the nearest one seems to be John Smith, but it says he only made fobs. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The photos also show that the knife blade is EPNS.

I believe that’s a crown, not an anchor, which would make it Sheffield, rather than Birmingham. The date letter then becomes 1902.
The maker might be John Sanderson, who’s listed as a maker of flatware.
Thank you so much. I know that an anchor is Birmingham not a crown, so I have no idea why I accidentally thought it was Birmingham. Thank you for your time and telling me the right information.
Once you get off on the wrong foot, it can be tough to get yourself back on track! Sometimes it just takes another pair of eyes. 
Thanks, yes that’s true. I think I know what happened though. I had been going through a lot of different silver, reading the hallmarks etc. Most of it was Birmingham essay, so I think my mind was just on that
