I am hoping that someone can identify this marking, maybe not English on a lovely piece that surfaced when I started to clear out my father’s house. It is on an elaborately decorated kettle, heated by a suspended small chamber presumably to contain flammable oil of some kind.

This is in fact English - but it is not silver. The 2 letters in the last part of the mark are EP which signifies electroplate. The manufacturer was Fenton Brothers of Sheffield.

Many thanks for your swift response and it is great to know those details. I am planning to keep this item but am thinking I will dispose of some others which came to me also from my father’s house.
