I was very excited about this item and also a little confused about the purpose, why put a gold coin in a silver ladle? I don’t know who made the ladle, but since it is a 12 Loth pattern I know it is from the 19th or 18th century, like the gold coin. Does anyone know who the silversmith is, please?

I have seen silver ashtrays that had a silver coin at the bottom, but none of the coin was visible, which leads me to believe that in ancient times there was a culture of coins attracting wealth, abundance or protection.
At first glance I read that it was definitely Wolfgang Hüber, then I read the material and said, I don’t think it’s the same style of work and the signature is different. I looked at all the Ebay items in Loth silver, the closest I got to WH was W. Ambach from the city of Stettin, but I couldn’t find anything about him either, to see if he had signed it before just WH.
Thank you very much for your research Bartholomew. Considering the coin and the ladle, the combination must have occurred between 1780 and 1885. In fact the ducat coin was abolished in 1791.
