I’m struggling to identify the marks on the base of this jug, which is leading me to wonder if it’s Electroplated rather than sterling. Can anyone offer any advice please? Thank you
It’s either electroplate or a base metal alloy. The manufacturer was Fattorini & Sons of Bradford. As the use of a crown on non-silver items was banned in the early 1890s it must date from shortly before that time.
