I recently acquired the below mother of pearl and silver snuff box (c. 7cm x 3cm). It is unmarked. It was sold as being English of the regency period and I can see why that may be so but I feel the box may be much earlier in date given the particular style of the engraving on both the silver and mother of pearl. Also there is a certain age to the silver work, with the use of visible silver pins. If any member feels they can date this piece - or confirm it’s English - that would be appreciated.
